Message: Happy 27th Birthday Miong21

Nope! This is not another "My Featured Music Video" post. This is simply a tribute to a special friend who had been the biggest influence why I`m part of the blogosphere now. Wonder who he is? Then why not continue reading this post. Haha.

If you have read my post last Wednesday, September 24, then perhaps it might give you an idea of who this person is...

A fellow blogger, an influence, an online friend [as I claim us to be], and a mentor, these are what he is to me. But hey! he`s just really an online friend since we have not yet met personally... I`m just hoping that somehow we could, so I could thank him personally for everything, I mean for helping me decide to blog. As you may not know it [I`ve been like so redundant with this fact! lol], this person is the main reason why I am blogging now. And his two blogs are my inspirations.

His name is Dave Montero, but he`s better known as Miong [miong21] in the bloggers world or the blogosphere. And he just turn 27 today! Yes, today! This day is his day! It`s Miong`s Day!

Dave, Happy Birthday! I`m glad that everything`s going fine with you. And happy that your relationship with your special somebody is going stronger. I just wanted to wish you all the happiness in life. You certainly deserve it.

On this day, there are lot of people who are thinking of you. And of course I am one of them. Now that you`re a year older and a bit of a grump, I`m just hoping that you`ll not change. Just stay as the same as what you have always been since before, but be more wiser okay? Continue to share your life to others, since you`re special.

Lastly, in this world, where everything seems uncertain, only one thing is definite. You'll always be a friend, beyond words, beyond time and beyond distance.

Looking forward to many more years of friendship. Even if it`s just online. Haha.

Happy Birthday again. Enjoy your own holiday! God Bless!

My Featured Music Video: "MY HEART WILL GO ON" performed by CHARICE PEMPENGCO

[video is taken from
YouTube.]

In relation to what I have posted earlier today, I decided to feature CHARICE PEMPENGCO`s rendition or version of "MY HEART WILL GO ON" as "My Featured Music Video" for this particular time.

"MY HEART WILL GO ON" is the theme song of the 1997 blockbuster movie "TITANIC" which was released in 1997. It was written by Will Jennings and James Horner and was recorded and performed by Celine Dion and included in her album "LET`s TALK ABOUT LOVE". Just like the movie, it also became blockbuster and went number 1 all over the world for how many months. And accordingly, it`s also considered to be the second most successful song released by a solo female artist.

The music video above is actually a live performance of Charice Pempengco with David Foster on Oprah`s show last September 9, 2008. I can say that it`s just the same as the usual live performances videos you often see or watch, but if you`ll listen to it carefully you`ll definitely know the difference... I just loved the way Charice sang "MY HEART WILL GO ON" on this video. Her rendition or version of the song is truly different from the original one. It`s simply amazing and brilliant! Absolutely, she made the song her own. Hope she`ll be able to record this song in her upcoming album, and for sure I`ll grab a copy. Haha.

Anyway, I hope you`ll enjoy the video...

My Featured Music Video: "WHENEVER YOU CALL" performed by MARIAH CAREY feat. BRIAN MCKNIGHT

[ video is taken from YouTube. ]

"WHENEVER YOU CALL" is one of my favorite Mariah Carey`s single. This song is actually written and produced by Mariah Carey herself together with Walter Afanasieff for her seventh album entitled "BUTTERFLY". Accordingly, this ballad talks about how love is a strong force, that giving up to it is inevitable. It was released as BUTTERFLY's sixth and final single in late 1998. Unfortunately, at the time of its release, SONY [Mariah Carey`s record label at that time] requested that the song be issued only as promotional single which only means that the song be issued or made available only for the use of professional disc jockeys and not for sale to public. But despite the lack of heavy promotions, "WHENEVER YOU CALL" still hit and reached the top charts.

In the music video above, Mariah Carey performed "WHENEVER YOU CALL" live with Brian McKnight who is also known for his gift in singing and songwriting, and for being the only black male R&B singer who have a spot on the Hip Hop, Pop, Country and R&B charts at the same time. Being a keen critic when it comes to music, I personally want to emphasize that this live music video is not lipsynced [not like what others used to assume and claim it to be] but a result of great performance by two of world`s great voices and performers. They`re just simply amazing, and that`s exactly the reason why some people couldn`t even believe that it`s performed live and that it`s really not lipsynced at all. In addition, I also wanted to clarify that this happens to be a live performance but then of course there could have been some studio modifications [example is the edited live reactions from the audiences like their claps or applauses in other posted videos of the same on YouTube] for it to sound so normal yet brilliant just like what a studio recording sounded like. But just incase the performance was lipsynced like what others used to believed in, then still, I have to salute Mariah Carey & Brian McKnight for they have performed it well for me not to notice it at all.

Anyway, the issue here is not that if it`s really lipsynced or not, or if it`s really performed live or not... but the music itself and the rendition or of how they`ve given the music its` life. Still it`s a great Duet and a great performance from two of the world`s great voices.

My Featured Music Video: "LOVE WILL LEAD YOU BACK" [Remake] performed by KYLA

[ video is taken from YouTube. ]

Today`s "My Featured Music Video" is a remake performed by Kyla a.k.a "Philippines R&B Princess" which is originally performed by Taylor Dayne and written by Dianne Waren with the title "LOVE WILL LEAD YOU BACK". It`s actually about a woman who is willing to set her lover free because she`s certain and confident enough that one day his love will lead him back to her.

With this music video, Kyla won the recently concluded MYX Music Awards 2008 as MYX Music Awards 2008 Favorite Remake and was also nominated as MYX Music Awards 2008 Favorite Mellow Video and MYX Music Awards 2008 Favorite Female Artist. Also, she`s currently nominated for two categories of the much awaited 2008 Awit Awards: [1] Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist for "Love Will Lead You Back" and [2] Best Ballad for "It`s Over Now" [it`s suppose to be three if you`ll consider the Best Vocal Arrangement category for "Love Will Lead You Back"]. Hope and pray she`ll win those categories.

By the way, "Love Will Lead You Back" is Kyla`s carrier/first single in her latest album "HEARTFELT" [released last 2007] which is all about matters of the heart.

I personally loved Kyla`s version of this song, and I`d consider it as song for the hopeful. Though the official music video is quite simple but it has shown Kyla`s mature approach to singing, and I can even feel her emotion while watching the music video. She has definitely evolved. Kudos Kyla!

My Featured Music Video: "BABAE AKO" [URDUJA Theme] performed by REGINE VELASQUEZ

A question from an office buddy earlier resulted me of creating this kind of post. Just realized, why not let my viewers and readers know exactly what type or kind of music [music video] that interests me. Perhaps, it may help them learn and understand the kind of person I am.

So I decided to come up with "My Featured Music Videos". This shall be a series of post which will document all my favorite musics [music videos] and also the artists behind every videos I`ll be featuring.

Since this will be my very first post of this kind, I decided to feature my all time favorite Filipino singer who has in one way or another inspired me in different aspects of my life and she would be no other than Ms. Regine Velasquez better known as "Asia`s Songbird". Her story is something that one person should learn and set as an example...

Anyway, my featured music video for today is entitled "BABAE AKO" performed by Regine Velasquez. This is actually the theme song for the first ever all-Filipino full-length animated movie about a princess from Philippine folklore entitled "URDUJA". I consider this music video as one of Regine`s greatest music videos so far... and hope she`ll come up with another one great video again.

Hope you`ll enjoy watching... You`ll be the judge!

`Til my next featured music video. Enjoy!
